Creamy Light Low-Fat White Sauce

Instructions

  1. Cook onion and broth in a 1-quart saucepan until most liquid evaporates.

  2. Whisk skim milk and flour in a bowl; add to the saucepan and cook, whisking, until thickened.

  3. Stir in wine and soup base, then season with salt and pepper to taste.

  4. If desired, blend in Parmesan cheese and cook for 2 to 3 minutes until smooth.
