Cream Cheese Cookies With Jam Filling

Preheat the oven to 325 F.

In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt; cut in cream cheese and butter until the mixture resembles coarse meal.

Stir in sour cream until the pastry holds together, then form into a ball, wrap, and refrigerate for one hour.

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Divide the chilled dough into quarters, keeping unused portions refrigerated.

On a floured surface, roll one dough portion into a 10-inch square, cut out 3-inch rounds, and place about 1/2 teaspoon of preserves in the center of each.

Moisten the dough edges with water, fold over the preserves to form crescents, then press edges with a floured fork to seal and lightly prick the tops.

Arrange cookies on the prepared baking sheet and repeat with the remaining dough.

Bake for 18 to 20 minutes, or until golden brown, then transfer to racks to cool.
