Corned Beef Recipe (Made From Cured Brisket of Beef)
Homemade corned beef is easily prepared using a cured brisket and a few hours of slow cooking in a large pot.

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 250 F.

Rinse the cured brisket, then place it fat-side down in a heavy pot or Dutch oven; cover with cold water and add other ingredients.

Bring the liquid to a near boil on the stovetop, then cover the pot and transfer it to the oven for 3 hours.

Optionally, add potatoes, carrots, and cabbage during the last 30 minutes of cooking.

For sandwiches or hash, cool the beef in its cooking liquid before refrigerating, then slice against the grain.
