Copycat Waffle House Waffles

In a large bowl, combine flour, cornstarch, salt, baking soda, and baking powder.

In a separate bowl, whisk egg, sugar, butter, shortening, and vanilla; then stir in milk, half-and-half, and buttermilk until smooth.

Fold the dry ingredient mixture into the wet ingredient mixture until just combined, leaving some lumps.

Preheat a waffle iron.

Spray the preheated waffle iron with cooking spray and add about 1/2 cup of batter.

Cook each waffle for 4 to 6 minutes until golden brown and crispy; repeat with remaining batter.
