Copycat Crazy Bread Recipe

Homemade breadsticks, easily prepared, are brushed with melted butter and garlic, then topped with Parmesan cheese.

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 F and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. In a stand mixer, dissolve sugar in 1/2 cup warm water, then add yeast and stir.

  3. Allow mixture to stand until frothy (5 minutes).

  4. Sift in bread flour and salt, then add 1/4 cup warm water and olive oil.

  5. Mix on low speed until combined, scraping the bowl (2 minutes).

  6. Increase speed to medium and knead until dough is smooth and elastic (8-10 minutes).

  7. Lightly oil a large bowl, transfer dough to coat, and cover.

  8. Let dough rise in a warm place until doubled (2 hours).

  9. Divide dough into 8 equal pieces.

  10. Roll each piece into an 8-inch cylinder.

  11. Transfer to the prepared baking sheet.

  12. Cover and let breadsticks rise until slightly larger (20 minutes).

  13. Bake until golden brown (16 minutes).

  14. In a bowl, combine melted butter and garlic powder.

  15. Brush baked breadsticks with garlic butter, sprinkle with Parmesan cheese, and serve immediately.
