Cooked Vanilla Frosting
An easy-to-make, old-fashioned cooked vanilla frosting can be made with either vanilla bean paste or extract.

Instructions

In a saucepan, whisk milk, flour, and salt over medium-low heat.

Cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture is thick and bubbly; cool completely to room temperature.

In a mixing bowl, beat sugar and butter until smooth.

Beat in the cooled flour mixture until light and fluffy.
