Classic Two Egg Vanilla Pound Cake

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325 F and prepare a 9x5x3-inch loaf pan by greasing and flouring it.

  2. Cream softened butter and sugar in a large bowl with an electric mixer for 5-7 minutes until light and fluffy.

  3. Beat in eggs one at a time until well combined after each addition.

  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.

  5. In a measuring cup, combine milk and vanilla.

  6. Alternately add the flour mixture and milk-vanilla mixture to the creamed ingredients, beginning and ending with flour, beating until just blended after each addition.

  7. Transfer the batter to the prepared loaf pan and spread evenly.

  8. Bake for about 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until a tester inserted into the center comes out clean.
