Instructions

  1. Preheat the broiler to 500 F (High), positioning the rack about 6 inches from the heat.

  2. Remove crusts from bread slices, then cut each slice into two triangles, rectangles, or squares.

  3. Arrange the bread on a baking sheet.

  4. Brush one side of the bread with melted butter, then sprinkle lightly with salt and pepper.

  5. Broil for approximately 1.5 minutes per side until golden brown.

  6. Serve immediately or store in an airtight container for up to 24 hours.
