Classic Southern Skillet-Fried Corn
A classic Southern side dish, this skillet-fried corn features fresh kernels, bacon drippings or butter, and a hint of sugar.

Remove corn kernels from cobs.

Heat bacon fat or butter in a heavy skillet over medium-high heat, reducing to medium-low if using butter to prevent burning.

Add corn to the hot fat and cook, stirring frequently, until browned, approximately 10 to 20 minutes.

Stir in salt, pepper, and sugar; cook for 2 minutes, stirring constantly, to caramelize the sugar.
