Classic Shortbread
A simple, three-ingredient butter shortbread can be baked in a pan or cut into desired shapes.

Instructions

Preheat oven to 300 F.

Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

Gradually blend flour into the creamed mixture until well incorporated.

Pat the dough into an ungreased 13x9-inch baking pan and prick with a fork, or roll and cut into desired shapes.

Bake for 40 to 45 minutes until lightly browned.

Immediately cut into squares or rectangles after removing from oven, then cool completely. Optionally dust with powdered sugar.
