Instructions

  1. Combine ground beef, rice, water, chopped onion, seasoned salt, garlic powder, and pepper in a large bowl.

  2. Form the mixture into 1 1/2-inch balls.

  3. Whisk together tomato sauce, water, and Worcestershire sauce for the sauce.

  4. For oven preparation: Preheat oven to 350 F. Place meatballs in an ungreased 2-quart shallow baking dish. Pour sauce over, cover tightly with foil, and bake for 55 minutes. Uncover and bake for an additional 15 to 20 minutes until cooked through. Serve.

  5. For stovetop preparation: Heat 1 tablespoon vegetable oil in a large deep skillet over medium heat. Brown the shaped meatballs, turning as needed, then drain drippings. Add the sauce, bring to a simmer, then cover and cook on low heat for 45 minutes, adding water if needed. Serve.
