Classic Popovers
Classic popovers, optionally prepared with shredded cheese, are a simple and impressive baked good.

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 425F. Grease 6 (6-ounce) custard cups with butter, place them on a baking sheet, and heat them in the oven.

Whisk eggs and milk in a bowl, then add flour and salt; beat until the batter is smooth.

Remove the hot cups from the oven and immediately fill each about halfway with batter.

Bake for 35 to 45 minutes. After baking, prick each popover to release steam.

Serve hot.
