Classic Maryland Crab Cakes Recipe

These delicious, plump Maryland-style crab cakes are made at home with crab, crackers, Dijon mustard, mayo, Worcestershire, and spices.

Instructions

  1. Drain crabmeat and remove any shells or cartilage.

  2. Combine finely crushed crackers with egg, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, Old Bay, Worcestershire sauce, and salt.

  3. Gently fold the prepared crabmeat into the mixture until just combined.

  4. Form into 6 crab cakes, then chill for at least 1 hour.

  5. Heat vegetable oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Cook crab cakes for 3 to 5 minutes per side until golden brown, then transfer to a plate.

  6. Serve with tartar sauce, rémoulade, or a squeeze of lemon.
