Classic Funnel Cake
A classic fairground treat, this funnel cake recipe can be prepared in under 15 minutes.

Instructions

Preheat a deep fryer or deep-sided skillet to 365 F.

Sift flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt together.

In a separate bowl, combine eggs, milk, water, butter, and vanilla extract.

Add the liquid mixture to the dry ingredients and beat with an electric mixer until smooth and thin.

Fill a funnel with 1/2 to 2/3 cup batter; hold it just above the hot oil, then release the batter into continuous circles.

Fry one side until light golden brown, then flip and fry for 45 seconds more.

Remove the cake and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.

Garnish with confectioners' sugar, sauce, or fresh fruit as desired.
