Classic Frogmore Stew (Low Country Boil)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the seafood boil seasoning by combining all ingredients in a bowl or jar.

  2. Start boiling water in a large stockpot with the prepared seafood boil seasoning.

  3. Meanwhile, cut large potatoes into halves or quarters, slice sausage into 1 1/2- to 2-inch pieces, and shuck corn, breaking each ear into halves or thirds.

  4. Once the water is boiling, add potatoes and boil for 5 minutes.

  5. Add sausage and continue boiling for 12 minutes.

  6. Add corn and boil for 1 minute.

  7. Add shrimp and boil for 2 minutes.

  8. Drain the stew well using a strainer or colander.

  9. Serve the stew on a paper-covered surface.
