Classic Forgotten Cookies

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350 F and line a cookie sheet with foil, then grease it with butter.

Beat 2 large egg whites until foamy, gradually adding 2/3 cup granulated sugar until stiff peaks form.

Stir in 1 teaspoon vanilla extract and 1 pinch fine salt.

Fold in 1 cup pecans and 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips.

Drop teaspoonfuls of dough onto the prepared cookie sheet.

Place the cookies in the preheated oven, turn the oven off immediately, and leave them in the closed oven overnight for approximately 10 hours.
