Classic Fettuccine Alfredo

A classic fettuccine Alfredo combines cream, butter, Parmesan cheese, and parsley for a rich dish, ideal on its own or with added protein.

Instructions

  1. Start boiling a large pot of salted water.

  2. Cook fettuccine in the boiling water according to package directions until al dente, then drain.

  3. While the pasta cooks, heat butter and cream in a large sauté pan over medium-low heat until it begins to bubble.

  4. Reduce heat and simmer for approximately 15 minutes until the sauce slightly thickens, then remove from heat.

  5. Stir in Parmesan cheese and parsley until fully combined, adjusting consistency with additional cream if desired.

  6. Season the sauce with salt and black pepper to taste.

  7. Toss the drained fettuccine with the prepared Alfredo sauce.

  8. Serve immediately, optionally garnished with extra Parmesan and parsley.
