Instructions

  1. Brown ground beef with onions in a skillet; drain thoroughly.

  2. Transfer browned beef and onions to a 4-quart slow cooker. Stir in garlic, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, chili powder, ground cumin, dried oregano, salt, pepper, cayenne pepper, and drained kidney beans. Cook on low for 6-8 hours until vegetables are tender.

  3. Increase heat to high. Mix cornstarch with water until smooth, then stir into the chili. Cook uncovered for 15 minutes, or until chili thickens slightly.

  4. Serve chili with desired toppings.
