Instructions

  1. Heat vinegar and sugar in a saucepan until dissolved, add salt, then cool the mixture.

  2. Combine carrot, red onion, and radish in a bowl; pour the cooled vinegar mixture over them, cover, and marinate for 4 to 12 hours.

  3. In a small bowl, stir together mayonnaise, lemon juice, zest, and hot sauce.

  4. Lightly toast the hot dog buns.

  5. Carefully check crabmeat for shells, then mix it with the mayo, chives, salt, and pepper.

  6. Place leaves into each roll, then divide the crab mixture among them.

  7. Garnish with pickles and serve immediately.
