Classic Chicken and Shrimp Jambalaya With Sausage

Instructions

  1. Season chicken pieces with paprika.

  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil, brown the chicken on all sides, then remove.

  3. Add onion, green bell pepper, celery, and garlic to the skillet and sauté over low heat until the onion is tender, about 10 minutes.

  4. Stir in sausage, tomatoes, chicken broth, rice, thyme, salt, pepper, hot sauce, and the chicken. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 30 minutes or until chicken is tender.

  5. Stir in shrimp and cook for 3 to 5 minutes longer, until the shrimp turn pink.
