Cinnamon Scones

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 F.

  2. Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt in a large bowl, then cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse cornmeal.

  3. Add egg and vanilla; then mix in milk until the dough just comes together, leaving some dry flour.

  4. Turn dough onto a floured surface and knead briefly until smooth and easy to handle.

  5. Pat dough into two 1-inch thick discs and cut each into 6 pieces.

  6. Place scones on a buttered or parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes, until golden.

  7. Cool scones on the baking sheet.
