Cinnamon Dessert Bread With Icing

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350 F.

In a medium bowl, combine milk, water, 1 tablespoon butter, sugar, yeast, cinnamon, and salt; stir until dissolved, then add raisins if desired.

Gradually mix in bread flour to form a dough, then knead on a floured surface for 5 minutes, adding more flour if needed.

Place the greased dough in a greased medium bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm spot for 45 minutes or until doubled.

Punch down the dough, reform it into a ball, and knead for 3 minutes on a floured surface.

Shape the dough into a loaf, place it in a greased loaf pan, cover, and let rise for 30 minutes or until doubled.

Bake for 30 minutes, or until golden brown, then remove and cool to warm on a rack.

Prepare the icing by mixing confectioners' sugar, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.

Spread the icing over the cooled bread.
