Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 350 F.
-
Prepare a 9x13 baking pan by buttering and flouring, or lining with parchment/foil leaving a 2-inch overhang, then spray with non-stick spray.
-
Whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
-
Melt butter and chocolate chips over simmering water; cool slightly, then stir in sugar, eggs, and vanilla.
-
Combine the melted mixture with the dry ingredients; pour batter into the prepared pan.
-
Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few crumbs; cool completely before removing from the pan using the overhang.
-
Slice the brownies with two horizontal cuts and then diagonal cuts to form tree shapes.
-
Stir green food coloring into vanilla frosting to achieve the desired shade.
-
Transfer the colored frosting to a piping bag and apply in a zig-zag pattern over each brownie tree.
-
Insert a pretzel stick into each tree's widest part for a trunk and decorate with holiday sprinkles.
