Chorípan (Chorizo Sandwich on French Bread)

A popular South American sandwich features seasoned sausage served on a crusty bread roll with desired condiments.

Instructions

  1. Cook sausages in a skillet with 1/2 inch water over medium heat until the water evaporates, turning once.

  2. Remove sausages, slice them lengthwise almost in half, keeping the pieces attached.

  3. Add 1 tablespoon of olive oil to the skillet, then return the split and flattened sausages. Cook over medium heat until well browned on both sides.

  4. Split bread rolls, spread with mayonnaise, mustard, and other desired condiments, then serve warm with the sausages.
