Chocolate Granita Recipe
A simple, dairy-free chocolate granita offers a refreshing icy dessert reminiscent of frozen chocolate cake.

Instructions

Warm water in a medium saucepan over medium heat until it simmers.

Whisk in cocoa powder, sugar, and salt for 2 minutes until dissolved.

Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.

Pour the mixture into an 8-or 9-inch square metal baking pan and cool to room temperature.

Cover the pan and freeze for 1 hour.

Using a fork, scrape and mix the granita. Repeat this every hour until it has a snow-like texture, about 4 to 5 hours.

Serve in chilled dessert cups with chosen toppings.
