Instructions

  1. Melt chocolate chips and unsweetened chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring every 30 seconds.

  2. Stir marshmallow cream, water, and vanilla into the melted chocolate until well combined.

  3. Press the fudge mixture into an 8x8-inch waxed paper-lined pan, cover, and refrigerate for about 1 hour until firm.

  4. Remove fudge from the pan, then slice it in half horizontally before cutting each half into 8 thin 1x4-inch rectangles.

  5. Dust hands with cocoa powder and roll each rectangle into a cylinder; place them on a lined baking sheet and refrigerate if they soften.

  6. Melt red candy coating in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring every 30 seconds until smooth.

  7. Poke a hole into the top of each fudge cylinder with a toothpick, widening it to fit a licorice piece.

  8. Snip licorice into 16 one-inch pieces.

  9. Dip each fudge cylinder into the red coating, allowing excess to drip off, then place back on the baking sheet.

  10. Insert a licorice piece into the hole of each dipped fudge cylinder.

  11. Refrigerate the tray for approximately 20 minutes to completely set the coating.
