Chocolate Drop Cookies Recipe

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 F and line baking sheets with parchment paper or grease them.

Sift together flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt; set aside.

In a large bowl, beat butter with brown and granulated sugars until light and fluffy.

Beat in eggs one at a time, then beat in vanilla.

With the mixer on low speed, gradually beat in the flour mixture until well blended and smooth.

Fold in the finely chopped walnuts.

Drop dough by rounded tablespoons onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving about 2 inches between cookies.

Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until set; optionally, sprinkle with granulated sugar while hot or dust with confectioners' sugar when cool.

Cool cookies on the pans for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a rack to cool completely.
