Chocolate Chip Lava Cookies
A rich deep-dish chocolate chip cookie, reminiscent of a molten lava cake, offering a decadent dessert experience.

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F and lightly grease a 12-cup muffin pan.

Melt 2/3 cup chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl; set aside.

In a separate small bowl, combine flour, salt, baking soda, and baking powder; set aside.

Cream butter and both sugars.

Mix in egg and vanilla until blended, then incorporate the flour mixture until just combined.

Stir in the remaining chocolate chips.

Place 2 tablespoons of dough into each muffin cup, pressing to flatten and create a small well.

Spoon 1 tablespoon of melted chocolate into each well.

Refrigerate the cups for 3-4 minutes.

Add 2 more tablespoons of dough on top of each cup, pressing the edges to seal the melted chocolate inside.

Bake on the bottom rack for 23-25 minutes until golden brown.

Remove from oven, run a knife around the edges to loosen, and cool for 15 minutes.

Invert the muffin pan onto a cookie sheet to remove the cookies. Serve immediately with vanilla ice cream.
