Chocolate Chip Icebox Cookies
Chocolate chip icebox cookies are prepared by chilling dough logs, slicing them, and then baking until golden.

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350 F and line a baking sheet.

Cream butter and sugars, then beat in eggs, vanilla, and salt until fluffy.

Gradually add flour, then stir in chocolate chips.

Chill the dough for 30-60 minutes.

Divide dough into two portions, form each into a 4 1/4-inch log, wrap, and refrigerate for at least 4 hours until very firm.

Slice the firm logs into 1/4-inch pieces and arrange 1-inch apart on the prepared baking sheet.

Bake for 9-12 minutes until lightly golden, then cool before serving.
