Chocolat Chaud Recipe
A rich French hot chocolate, or chocolat chaud, combines melted chocolate with milk and water, topped with whipped cream for a luxurious warm beverage.

Instructions

Start simmering water in a pot for a double boiler setup.

Melt chopped chocolate into 1/4 cup hot water using a double boiler or a heat-safe bowl over the simmering water.

Stir in the remaining 3 tablespoons hot water and 3 cups hot milk until the chocolate mixture is smooth.

Pour into cups and add sugar as desired.

Garnish each cup with a spoonful of whipped cream and a few chocolate curls.
