Instructions

  1. Prepare pork ribs by trimming fat, removing the membrane, and cutting into individual pieces.

  2. Combine soy sauce, dry sherry, hoisin sauce, brown sugar, honey, minced garlic, minced ginger, cider vinegar, sesame oil, chili paste, Chinese five-spice powder, and white pepper in a bowl. Reserve 1/4 cup for basting.

  3. Place ribs into a resealable bag, add the remaining marinade, ensure full coating, and refrigerate for 1 to 4 hours.

  4. Heat a grill to medium.

  5. Remove ribs from the bag, discarding the used marinade.

  6. Grill ribs for 25 to 30 minutes, or until an internal temperature of 165 F is reached, basting two to three times with the reserved marinade. Cease basting 5 to 8 minutes before cooking is complete.

  7. Transfer ribs to a platter and garnish with toasted sesame seeds and chopped green onion.
