Chinese Dry Garlic Spareribs

Instructions

  1. Start boiling a large pot of water.

  2. Add ribs to the boiling water, cover, and simmer for 30 minutes until tender.

  3. While ribs cook, mix brown sugar, water, garlic, light soy sauce, and dry mustard in a bowl.

  4. Remove ribs, slice between bones, and clean the pot.

  5. Add the sauce ingredients to the clean pot, bring to a boil, then add the spareribs.

  6. Return to a boil, then reduce heat to a simmer for 10 to 15 minutes, basting often.

  7. Transfer ribs to a platter; simmer the sauce to thicken, then pour over the ribs and serve.
