Chili Nacho Casserole With Ground Beef and Beans

Preheat oven to 350 F.

Lightly grease a 2 1/2 to 3-quart casserole dish.

Brown ground beef and onion in a large skillet with olive oil until the beef is no longer pink and the onion is tender; drain any drippings.

Add bell pepper and garlic, cooking for 2-3 minutes until the bell pepper softens. Stir in pinto beans, tomatoes, chili powder, and cumin, then cook until the mixture is hot and bubbly.

Arrange half of the broken tortilla chips in the casserole, then layer with half of the beef and bean mixture and half of the cheese.

Cover with the remaining beef and bean mixture, followed by the remaining chips and cheese.

Bake for approximately 25 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbly and the cheese is thoroughly melted.
