Chiles Rellenos Casserole With Ground Beef Recipe

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 F and lightly grease an 11x7-inch or shallow 2-quart baking dish.

  2. In a skillet, cook ground beef and onion over medium heat until browned and the onion is translucent; drain well and season with half of the salt and pepper.

  3. Place half of the chiles in the prepared baking dish, then sprinkle with cheese and top with the ground beef mixture.

  4. Arrange the remaining chiles over the beef mixture.

  5. In a mixing bowl, combine milk, flour, the remaining salt and pepper, eggs, and hot pepper sauce; beat until smooth.

  6. Pour the egg mixture over the meat and chile layers.

  7. Bake for 45 to 50 minutes, or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.

  8. Allow the casserole to cool for 5 minutes before serving.
