Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 2 1/2 to 3-quart baking dish.

  2. Cook pasta in salted boiling water for about 2 minutes less than package directions, then drain and rinse well.

  3. In a large saucepan, melt butter over medium-low heat, then cook mushrooms until tender.

  4. Reduce heat, add garlic, and cook for 1 minute; blend in flour and cook, stirring, for 2 minutes.

  5. Gradually add milk, stirring until thickened, then incorporate 2 cups of shredded cheese, stirring until melted.

  6. Add the chicken, Worcestershire sauce, and pasta to the sauce, mix, and transfer to the prepared baking dish.

  7. Top with the remaining 1 cup of shredded cheese.

  8. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes, or until hot and bubbly.
