Chicken Divan With Broccoli and Rice

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 F.

  2. Cook and drain broccoli, then arrange it in a 13x9-inch baking dish.

  3. Sprinkle half of the cheddar cheese over the broccoli, then add cubed chicken, salt, and pepper.

  4. Top with cooked rice.

  5. In a saucepan, melt butter, then blend in flour.

  6. Stir in milk and cook over medium heat until thickened and bubbling.

  7. Remove from heat, stir in lemon juice, and fold in sour cream.

  8. Pour the sauce over the chicken and rice, then sprinkle with the remaining cheese.

  9. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes.
