Instructions

  1. Prepare chapulines by removing their wings and legs.

  2. Heat oil in a shallow pan over medium-high heat, then sauté garlic, chile, and onion until translucent.

  3. Remove and discard the sautéed aromatics, leaving the flavored oil in the pan.

  4. Sauté the prepared chapulines in the oil until they are brown and crispy.

  5. Remove chapulines and drain them thoroughly on paper towels.

  6. Season with salt and fresh lime juice.

  7. Serve as a snack or as a filling for tacos.
