Caribbean Oat Porridge

Instructions

Bring 2 cups of water and a cinnamon stick to a boil over medium heat.

Concurrently, soak the oats in 1 cup of water for 4 minutes.

Once the water boils, add the soaked oats with their liquid, then stir in rinsed raisins and reduce to low heat.

Cover the pot and cook for 5 to 6 minutes, or until the mixture becomes very thick.

Remove from heat, discard the cinnamon stick, and stir in nutmeg, sugar, and whole milk, adjusting to taste.
