Instructions

  1. Prepare a baking sheet and a small loaf pan (8x5 inches) by lining them with foil, spraying the loaf pan foil.

  2. Combine caramels and cream in a microwave-safe bowl; microwave and stir until completely smooth.

  3. Pour melted caramel into the loaf pan, refrigerate 20-30 minutes until set, then remove and cut into 10 equal pieces.

  4. Roll each caramel piece into a 6-inch rope, then wrap it spirally around a pretzel rod, leaving 1-2 inches bare at the bottom.

  5. Place wrapped pretzels on the baking sheet and refrigerate them.

  6. Melt chocolate candy coating in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring until smooth.

  7. Dip each caramel-wrapped pretzel into the melted chocolate, covering all but the bottom 1-2 inches, and remove excess.

  8. Return dipped pretzels to the baking sheet; if desired, add nuts or sprinkles while the coating is wet. Repeat for remaining pretzels.

  9. Refrigerate the tray of pretzels for 30 minutes to set the chocolate.

  10. Serve.
