Caprese Salad Recipe

Instructions

  1. Slice tomatoes and fresh mozzarella to 1/4-inch thickness, then generously salt the tomato slices.

  2. Whisk balsamic vinegar and sugar in a small saucepan; simmer on medium-low heat for 5 to 10 minutes until thickened, stirring occasionally.

  3. Arrange alternating layers of salted tomato, one to two basil leaves, and mozzarella on a platter.

  4. Drizzle the salad with olive oil, additional salt, pepper, and the balsamic glaze, then serve immediately.
