Candied Bacon Cracker Bites
These bacon cracker bites offer a balance of salty, creamy, crispy, and sweet, featuring candied bacon, crackers, dates, and orange zest cream cheese as an easy party appetizer.

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 300 F and line a rimmed baking sheet with foil and a wire rack.

Combine 4 ounces softened cream cheese with the zest and juice (to taste) from one orange in a medium bowl, then stir until well combined.

Dollop about 1 teaspoon of the cream cheese mixture onto the salted side of each cracker and top with a date half.

Lay a piece of bacon over each cracker, place them on the prepared rack, and sprinkle each with approximately 1/2 teaspoon brown sugar.

Bake for 50 to 60 minutes until the bacon is crisp and glazed with the sugar.

Cool for at least 5 minutes, or until the caramelized sugar has hardened and they are cool enough to handle.
