California Cumberland Sauce for the Holidays

Instructions

  1. Combine currant jelly, wine, orange juice and zest, lemon juice and zest, brown sugar, mustard, cayenne, and ginger in a saucepan.

  2. Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat, then reduce heat to low and simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  3. Remove from heat and cool.

  4. Season with salt and pepper to taste; serve chilled or hot.
