Calamari a la Plancha Recipe

Instructions

  1. Heat two large sauté pans on high for 3-4 minutes until very hot.

  2. Pat calamari dry and season with salt.

  3. Add 2 tablespoons olive oil to one pan and cook calamari for 4 minutes, until it releases liquid.

  4. Add the remaining 2 tablespoons olive oil to the second pan. Transfer calamari to this second pan using a slotted spoon, leaving behind the juices.

  5. Return the second pan to heat. Add garlic and tentacles; cook until calamari is browned.

  6. Stir in parsley and pepper flakes, then remove from heat.

  7. Portion calamari onto four plates, drizzle with extra-virgin olive oil, and garnish with sea salt and a lemon wedge.
