Cabbage With Meatballs Recipe

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425 F.

  2. In a large saucepot over medium heat, sauté oil, 3/4 of the onion, and 3 minced garlic cloves for 3 minutes until translucent.

  3. Add crushed tomatoes, brown sugar, red wine vinegar, salt, pepper, and chopped cabbage; stir, then bring to a low simmer, cover, and cook for 30 minutes until tender.

  4. Meanwhile, combine ground beef, remaining 1/4 onion, 2 minced garlic cloves, egg, breadcrumbs, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, salt, and pepper in a large bowl; mix thoroughly.

  5. Form into 1-inch balls, place on a greased baking sheet, and bake for 10 minutes until cooked.

  6. Add meatballs to the cabbage and sauce; serve with parsley and sour cream.
