Buttery Southern Fried Corn

Instructions

  1. Heat 2 tablespoons butter in a large heavy-duty skillet over medium-low heat until foamy.

  2. Add 2 cups fresh corn kernels in an even layer; cook, stirring occasionally, until light golden in places, about 15 minutes.

  3. Sprinkle with 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, then taste and adjust seasoning.

  4. Stir in sugar if desired.
