Butter-Braised Cabbage

Instructions

  1. Discard any damaged outer leaves from the cabbage, then quarter, core, and chop it into bite-sized pieces.

  2. Melt butter in a large pan over medium-high heat.

  3. Add the chopped cabbage, salt, and 3 tablespoons of water; stir to combine.

  4. Cover the pan, reduce heat to medium-low, and cook for about 20 minutes, stirring periodically, until the liquid is absorbed.

  5. Check for tenderness; if needed, add 2 more tablespoons of water and continue cooking, adding 1 tablespoon at a time until the cabbage softens.

  6. Season with additional salt to taste and serve warm.
