Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325 F and line a roasting pan with foil.

  2. Place the ham fat-side up on a rack in the pan, score the fat in a diamond pattern to 3/4 inch depth, and stud it with whole cloves.

  3. Bake the ham for 18 to 20 minutes per pound; approximately 20 minutes before it is done, spoon half of the glaze over the ham.

  4. Remove the ham from the oven when its internal temperature reaches 140 F, then cover it loosely with foil and let it rest for 10 to 15 minutes.

  5. To prepare the glaze, combine maple syrup, brown sugar, apple juice, mustard, and cinnamon in a medium saucepan.

  6. Bring the glaze mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, then boil for 2 minutes while constantly stirring.
