Brown Basmati Rice Pilaf Recipe

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, heat butter and olive oil over medium-low heat. Sauté mushrooms until tender and golden brown, about 3 minutes.

  2. Stir in green onions and cook for 1 minute.

  3. Incorporate brown rice and stir for 3 minutes.

  4. Add chicken broth, salt, and thyme; bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 45 to 55 minutes, stirring occasionally and adding wine as needed.

  5. Stir in toasted pecans and pepper.

  6. Continue cooking for 1-2 minutes.
