Press pastry into a pie plate, line with foil, and fill with pie weights or dried beans; partially bake for 10 minutes until lightly browned, then remove weights and cool.

Steam broccoli for 3 to 5 minutes until tender, then drain thoroughly.

Whisk together milk, eggs, melted butter, flour, salt, pepper, and 3/4 cup cheese until blended.

Sprinkle the remaining 1/4 cup cheese over the cooled crust, then layer broccoli and mushrooms.
