British Oaty Apple Crumble

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 F (180 C).

  2. Peel, core, and chop apples into bite-sized chunks for the filling.

  3. Grease a 9x7-inch or 8x8-inch baking dish, then arrange apples in it and sprinkle with caster sugar.

  4. For the topping, combine flour, demerara sugar, and butter in a bowl, then rub the butter into the flour mixture until coarse and sandy.

  5. Stir muesli (or oats, fruits, and nuts) into the crumble topping mixture.

  6. Evenly sprinkle the topping over the apples in the dish.

  7. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes, until golden and bubbling.

  8. Let the crumble rest for 5 minutes before serving with custard or vanilla ice cream.
